Cannot rule out a shower or storm today, but then pleasant weather closes out the week

Paul Dorian

8:30 AM Temperatures reached 97 degrees yesterday at Reagan National Airport and will reach the 90’s again today, but much more comfortable air is on the way. The transition to cooler and drier air will continue today as one final piece of upper level energy will swing through causing some clouds and perhaps a shower or thunderstorm. Once that system passes by, the doors will be open here for pleasant weather over the next few days with lower temperatures and humidities. The high pressure that will control our weather will only slowly move towards the New England coast and could very well provide us with sunshine through the upcoming weekend. Today- a mix of sun and clouds with the chance for a shower or thunderstorm, still quite hot, low-to-mid 90’s

Tonight- partly cloudy and then turning less humid late, lows in the upper 60’s

Thurs- mostly sunny, pleasant, mid 80’s

Fri- mostly sunny, still pleasant, mid 80’s

Sat- mostly sunny, still pretty comfortable, mid 80’s

Sun- mostly sunny, very warm, upper 80’s

Mon- partly sunny, very warm, near 90
