A major pattern change will occur this weekend after a strong cold frontal passage ushers in much cooler air. In addition to the change to cooler conditions, the very wet weather pattern of the last couple of months will end, at least for several days, as we’ll enjoy generally dry weather for much of next week. The upcoming Canadian air mass that arrives this weekend will feel more typical of November weather in parts of the Northeast as there is the outside chance for some snowflakes to mix in with rain showers in some of the highest elevations. Strong high pressure will edge eastward by early next week and will control our overall pattern for several days with generally dry conditions through much of next week. As far as the weather goes for the Phillies playoff games this weekend – in general, not too nice and likely favorable to the pitchers. It should be chilly and windy late Saturday afternoon for game 1 with showers possible and temperatures dropping into the 50’s, and very cool and breezy for game 2 Sunday evening with highs on Sunday afternoon doing no better than the mid 50’s.
