Discussion

High pressure will build into the region today following yesterday’s cold frontal passage and the high will control our weather right through the upcoming weekend. The cold front has ushered in a cooler air mass and we’ll be much closer to normal temperature-wise compared to the recent balmy weather experienced over the weekend and earlier this week. Yet another front will approach the region early next week bringing with it the threat of showers will and that front will usher in colder air for the middle part of next week. Elsewhere, a severe "Santa Ana" wind event is likely later tonight and tomorrow across Southern California with 70 mph winds possible in low-lying areas and up to 90 mph wind gusts on mountain tops.
