Discussion
High pressure will continue to control our weather pattern as we begin the new work week. As the high drifts off the east coast over the next couple of days our winds will become southwesterly and it’ll turn slightly milder from the cold weekend temperatures. As far as the weekend cold is concerned, Reagan National Airport reached the freezing mark for the first time this season and that is only the 10th time in the past 140 years that the first freeze waited until December. In fact, it is the third latest freeze ever recorded at Reagan National Airport. Looking ahead, a low pressure area will move from the Plains states towards the Great Lakes during the middle of the week and it should cause some rain around by Thursday as it swings a cold front through the region.
