7:15 AM | Weak low pressure grazes us this evening; stronger storm affects us with some heavy rain by Wednesday night

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mostly sunny early today, clouds late, chilly, low 40’s

Mostly cloudy, chilly, chance for a little snow or rain early tonight that could cause a little accumulation and a few slick spots as temperatures drop to freezing

Mostly sunny, milder, near 50

Tuesday night

Partly cloudy, chilly, low-to-mid 30’s

Becoming cloudy, mild, rain likely during the late afternoon or at night, some of the rain will be heavy at night, low 50’s

Mostly cloudy, rain likely early, low 50’s early, but then turning cooler late

Mostly cloudy, windy, colder, snow showers possible, mid-to-upper 30’s

Partly sunny, cold, low-to-mid 30’s

A weak low pressure system will slide to our southeast today and it should throw back enough moisture into our region to produce a little light snow or rain during the evening hours; especially, to the south and east of NYC (e.g., Long Island). It’ll get milder tomorrow and Wednesday ahead of a stronger storm system that will cause rain here during the Wednesday PM hours into early Thursday and some of this rain will be heavy. Colder air starts to move into the East by Friday and this will be associated with a major change to the overall temperature pattern. Our recent mild stretch is about to end as more and more sustained cold will be the rule from mid-month on.
