2:00 PM | Light freezing rain tonight in much of the Mid-Atlantic will cause slick spots

Paul Dorian

Discussion

While temperatures will approach 50 degrees tomorrow afternoon, they will spend most of the night at or below freezing throughout the Mid-Atlantic region at the same time light drizzle breaks out. The combination of below freezing temperatures, cold ground, and light freezing drizzle will cause slick spots on untreated surfaces during the overnight hours throughout the DC, Philly and NYC metro regions. In fact, this icing situation could hang on right into the early part of the Monday morning rush hour in many parts of the Mid-Atlantic with light freezing drizzle combined with at or below freezing temperatures. By tomorrow afternoon, occasional “plain” rain will be the rule as temperatures jump well above freezing to near 50 degrees in many Mid-Atlantic locations.
