7:15 AM | Another taste of summer today, but temperatures trend downward this weekend into early next week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Partly sunny, very warm, chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, some of the storms can be strong, mid 80’s

Mostly cloudy, mild, chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, some of the storms can be strong, mid 60’s

Partly sunny, still pretty warm, but not quite as warm as Friday, slight chance for a shower or two, near 80

Saturday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool late, upper 50’s

Mostly sunny, breezy, cooler, near 75

Partly sunny, cool, low 70’s

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for showers, low 70’s

Mostly cloudy, milder, chance for showers, mid 70’s

Temperatures today should climb to the mid 80’s, but there will also be the threat for a shower or thunderstorm with the best chance coming during the late afternoon or nighttime hours as a cool front slowly slips our way from the northwest. Some of the storms that develop near and ahead of the front can become strong with brief, heavy rains and strong winds, but they will be rather scattered. Temperatures will begin a downward trend this weekend and that trend will continue into early next week. Looking ahead, there is the chance for some even cooler weather late next week and weekend as an upper level trough sets up in the Northeast for a few days.
