7:15 AM | Threat for soaking rain Wednesday PM as coastal storm forms along front

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mostly cloudy and cool with a couple of showers likely this afternoon, mid 60’s (normal high is 71 degrees)

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for a couple more showers, low 50’s

Mostly cloudy, windy, seasonably cool, chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, near 70

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for a shower or thunderstorm, upper 50’s

Cloudy, periods of rain in the afternoon and evening and a thunderstorm, low 70’s

Showers possible early then becoming partly sunny, cool, upper 60’s

Mostly sunny, cool, mid 60’s

Mostly sunny, seasonably cool, near 70

An unsettled pattern is shaping up for the first half of the week as an approaching cold front will increase our chances for showers on Tuesday and then that front will stall along the east coast during the mid-week time frame. A storm is likely to form along the front and this will enhance our chances for soaking rain from later Wednesday into early Thursday. The best chance for sunshine here in the Mid-Atlantic won’t come until late in the week and weekend when high pressure builds back into the region following the passage of the mid-week storm.
