7:15 AM | Shower threat continues into early Thursday, but the weather improves to close out the week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mostly cloudy, a bit milder, showers likely until mid-morning then rain-free during the late morning and early afternoon hours, more showers and a thunderstorm possible again later this afternoon, low-to-mid 70’s

Mostly cloudy, showers likely and a thunderstorm possible as well, turning cooler late, mid 50’s

Mostly cloudy early with lingering showers possible then becoming partly sunny, windy, seasonably cool, near 70

Thursday Night

Partly cloudy, breezy, chilly, upper 40’s

Mostly sunny, pleasantly cool, upper 60's

Mostly sunny, pleasantly, upper 60's

Partly sunny, a bit milder, chance for showers late in the day or at night, low 70's

Mostly cloudy chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, near 70

A cold front will stall out along the east coast early today and a wave of low pressure will then ride up along this boundary zone later today and tonight. As a result, after a break from the rain during the late morning and early afternoon hours, the threat for showers and thunderstorms will return later today and continue right through tonight before the wave of low pressure finally lifts to our northeast on Thursday. Once that coastal storm is gone, high pressure will build back into the Mid-Atlantic region and much better weather will close out the week. The weather may turn somewhat unsettled again late in the weekend or during the first part of next week.
