Weather forecasting and analysis, space and historic events, climate information

7:00 AM | Heat wave peaks on Saturday with 100 degrees a real possibility, but 80's return next week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mostly sunny, hot, but not as humid as yesterday, highs in the low-to-mid 90’s

Mostly clear, warm, near 75 degrees for overnight lows

Mostly sunny, very hot, humid, near 100 degrees

Saturday Night

Mostly cloudy, chance for a few showers and thunderstorms, warm, mid 70’s

Partly sunny, still hot, but not as extreme, chance for showers and thunderstorms, near 90

Partly sunny, much more comfortable, low 80’s

Mostly sunny, still comfortable, low 80’s

Mostly sunny, still comfortable, near 80

Very hot conditions are in store for the next couple of days with highs temperatures expected in the 90’s today and not all that far from 100 degrees for Saturday’s high. The good news, however, is that there is some noticeable relief in sight. A frontal system will approach the region on Saturday night and it should drop slowly southward through the area by early next week. This frontal passage will cause a change in air masses and high temperatures are likely to hold in the 80’s during much of next week.
