Weather forecasting and analysis, space and historic events, climate information

7:00 AM | More comfortable today, but humidity returns for the second half of the week; heavy rain and severe weather threat late this week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Lots of high clouds which will limit sunshine, very warm, but pretty comfortable humidity levels, upper 80’s

Partly cloudy, mild, becoming more humid late, lows in the mid-to-upper 60’s

Mostly sunny, very warm, more humid, slight chance for a late day shower or thunderstorm, upper 80’s

Wednesday Night

Partly cloudy, mild, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, upper 60’s

Partly sunny, very warm, humid, chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms, upper 80’s

Partly sunny, warm, humid, showers and thunderstorms likely and some of the rain can be heavy, mid-to-upper 80’s

Mostly cloudy, not as warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, low 80’s

Partly sunny, warm, low 80’s

A strong cool front passed through the region on Monday and it has now stalled along the southeast US coast. This same front will turn around and come north as a warm front on Wednesday and that will ultimately lead to higher humidity levels once again and increase our chance for showers and thunderstorms. While showers and storms will likely be scattered late Wednesday and Thursday, it looks like a more organized threat will emerge late in the week as a strong front approaches and this threat will include the possibility of some heavy rain and severe weather to close out the week.
