Weather forecasting and analysis, space and historic events, climate information

7:00 AM | Decent start to the week, but showers and storms reach us by tomorrow; strong cold front passes through this weekend

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mainly sunny, still pretty cool, highs near 70 degrees

Increasing clouds, showers possible towards daybreak, cool, upper 50’s

Cloudy, becoming warmer and more humid, occasional showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two, mid-to-upper 70’s

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, showers and maybe a thunderstorm, mild, low-to-mid 60’s

More clouds than sun, warm and humid, chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, upper 70’s

Partly sunny, warm, but a little less humid, mid 70’s

Mostly sunny, warm, mid 70’s

Partly sunny, cooler, maybe a few showers late, mid-to-upper 60’s

A large area of moisture that had its origins over the tropical Pacific Ocean has made its way across the southern states and is now moving towards the Mid-Atlantic region. Today will be a pretty nice start to the week, but clouds will roll in tonight and the next two days will feature warmer and more humid conditions along with occasional showers and possible thunderstorms. It’ll stay pretty warm on Thursday and Friday as well, but overall humidity levels should drop some from those higher mid-week values. A strong cold front that will sweep across the nation later this week is likely to pass through our region by early in the weekend and that will begin a cooling trend with the return of below normal temperatures.
