There will be one more mild day to start the week before seasonal chill moves back into the region by late tonight. The transition from mild to seasonal chill caused by a slow-moving cold front will produce a few rounds of precipitation over the next few days. Scattered rain showers are around the area this morning and then a mix of rain and sleet is possible late tonight into early Tuesday, and then another round of rain, sleet or snow is likely late Tuesday into early Wednesday and accumulations can't be ruled out with this mid-week system. Finally, one more low pressure area will have to be watched for later Thursday into Friday as colder air moves into the region. At the moment, it looks like that system will miss us just to our south, but it is a close call and its precipitation would likely be all snow should it move further north. After a moderately cold weekend, even colder air is destined to arrive early next week throughout the eastern part of the country as it appears the overall pattern becomes quite cold.
