Discussion

Last night's clipper system turned out to be a dud for most Mid-Atlantic locations and another one will approach the region tonight bringing with it the chance for more snow showers. In fact, snow or rain showers cannot be ruled out for this afternoon, but, if they were to occur, temperatures would be well above freezing. This next clipper may be the last in a series of clippers that have affected us since late last week. These fast-moving clippers have also consistently affected the Northern Plains, Upper Midwest, and Ohio Valley in recent days. Chicago, IL has now had 4 consecutive days with measureable snow for the 1st time since 2009 and many areas from the Northern Plains to the Jersey coast have had a similar active period.

By the end of the week, we will finally have a change in the pattern as "southern" moisture will get involved with a system that could ultimately become quite a storm just off the east coast. There is the chance for rain around here Thursday night through Friday night and parts of New England and New York State could end up with quite a snowfall at the end of the week/beginning of the weekend.
