Window-rattling thunderstorms passed though the region in the overnight hours dumping nearly two and a half inches of rain at Philly Intl Airport and there was a wind gust recorded there of 60 mph. There were even reports of up to 6 inches of rain in isolated parts of the region during the last 24 hours and flash flooding remains a concern today as the threat continues for more showers and thunderstorms on top of already well-saturated grounds.

A cool front will slide through the region by tomorrow morning and this will usher in more comfortable and less humid air, but whether is stays totally rain-free during the second half of the week is not quite clear at this point. Temperatures today and tomorrow should reach the low-to-mid 80’s for highs, but then hold closer to 80 degrees later this week and sleeping conditions will be downright great tomorrow night with lows dropping into the 50's. There is the threat for more rain in the region later in the weekend as another system heads east from the Midwest.
