7:00 AM | Dry and very cold weather through Friday; weekend storm threat with accumulating snow possible on Saturday

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mostly sunny and very cold, highs near 32 degrees (normal high at Central Park is 45 degrees)

Becoming partly cloudy, very cold, maybe a few flurries, lows in the low 20's

Mostly sunny, very cold, mid-to-upper 20’s

Thursday Night

Mostly clear, bitter cold, upper teens

Mostly sunny, still very cold, near 30

Cloudy, cold, snow likely that could mix with or change to sleet and/or rain, mid-to-upper 30’s

Chance for rain, sleet and/or snow early, cold, near 40

Partly sunny, windy, very cold, near 30

Dry and very cold weather will dominate through Friday and then attention will turn to a developing low pressure system across the south-central US. That low looks like it will intensify as it consolidates near the Northeast US coastline during the upcoming weekend. It is still too early to call the precipitation-type for this next storm, but there is an increasing chance for accumulating snow on Saturday that could be followed by a wintry mix.
