Discussion

A weak frontal system will lift northward later today as a warm front and then a cold front to our west is expected to arrive in this area tomorrow night. The combination of these two frontal systems will keep us very unsettled through tomorrow night and the result will be numerous showers and thunderstorms from late today through tomorrow night. Any shower that forms over the next 36 hours or so can produce torrential downpours and any thunderstorm can reach strong-to-severe levels. Localized flash flooding can occur with heavy rainfall piling up in a given location over a short period of time. Our weekend winning streak in the Mid-Atlantic region will continue as high pressure settles into the area. Humidity will lower on Saturday with the return of sunshine and a northwest breeze and Sunday promises to be quite nice with plenty of sunshine and comfortable conditions.
