August continues to run below normal for temperatures in the big cities along I-95 in the Mid-Atlantic region and temperatures for the rest of the week should remain at or below normal levels. In State College, Pennsylvania, there have been 22 consecutive days with below-normal temperatures and this is the longest stretch there for below-normal temperatures in more than 10 years.

As far as precipitation is concerned, a frontal system has stalled in the southern part of the Mid-Atlantic region and a couple of disturbances will ride along the boundary zone during the second half of the week. As a result, the threat will increase tomorrow night for scattered showers and possible thunderstorms and this threat will continue on Thursday as well.
