7:00 AM | Weekend cool front to bring showers and thunderstorms to the region...much cooler air moves in early next week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Mainly sunny skies, warm, continued moderate humidity levels, highs in the mid 80’s

Partly cloudy early, cloudy late with patchy fog, mild, lows near 70 degrees

Early clouds and fog give way to partial sunshine, quite warm and more humid, mid-to-upper 80’s

Friday Night

Mainly cloudy, mild, muggy, chance for a shower or thunderstorm, low 70's

Partly sunny, warm and humid, PM showers and thunderstorms likely, mid-to-upper 80’s

Becoming partly-to-mostly sunny, much cooler and less humid, chance for an early shower, upper 70’s

Mostly sunny, cool, mid-to-upper 70’s

Mostly sunny, still cool, mid-to-upper 70’s

Less humid air pushed into the region yesterday and humidity will remain at moderate levels today as well. High pressure will push off the Northeast coastline tonight; however, and this will usher in a return to higher humidity air for Friday and Saturday. While there can be scattered showers and thunderstorms later tomorrow night in the NYC metro area, a more widespread threat comes Saturday afternoon and evening with the approach of the next strong cool frontal system. Once that next cool front clears the east coast on Sunday, much cooler and drier air will push into the area and it’ll stay cooler-than-normal on Monday and Tuesday as well.
