Weather forecasting and analysis, space and historic events, climate information

7:00 AM | Showers develop at the end of the day and evolve into a steady, soaking rain event from later tonight into early Saturday; another soaking rain event by the middle of next week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Thickening and lowering clouds today, quite cool with showers possible at the end of the afternoon, highs in the lower 60’s

Cloudy and cool with periods of rain, lows in the lower 50’s

Cloudy in the morning with lingering rain possible, quite cool, some clearing possible late, low 60’s

Saturday Night

Becoming partly cloudy, chilly, mid-to-upper 40’s

Partly-to-mostly sunny, still quite cool, low 60’s

Mostly cloudy, not as cool, breezy, cannot rule out a shower, upper 60’s

Mostly cloudy, breezy, mild, showers possible, low-to-mid 70’s

Mostly cloudy, breezy, not as mild, rain likely and it can be heavy at times, upper 60's

Low pressure will ride along a frontal boundary zone over the next 12-24 hours and it’ll produce a soaking rainfall in the area from late today into early Saturday. High pressure should help improve conditions somewhat later tomorrow afternoon and for Sunday with some sunshine likely returning as we progress through the weekend. As the high shifts off the coast early next week, it’ll turn milder after this unusually cool stretch of weather and a heavy rain event is likely in this area by the middle of next week as another active cold front closes in on the east coast.
