7:00 AM | Much milder today and Friday...rain and possible thunderstorm move in later tomorrow and tomorrow night ahead of frontal system

Paul Dorian

6-Day NYC Forecast

Mainly sunny, becoming quite breezy and much milder, highs in the mid-to-upper 60’s

Mostly cloudy, staying quite mild, showers likely late, lows near 50 degrees

Mainly cloudy, breezy and quite mild, periods of rain and perhaps a thunderstorm or two, low-to-mid 60’s

Friday Night

Periods of rain, maybe a thunderstorm, breezy, turning colder late, mid 40’s

Lingering showers possible early in the morning; otherwise, partly sunny skies, windy, much cooler, low 50’s

Partly sunny, breezy, a little bit on the cool side, low 50's

Partly sunny, a bit milder, mid 50’s

Mostly cloudy, mild, chance for showers, upper 50’s

Winds will increase noticeably today and shift to a southwesterly direction and this will usher in much milder air that will stick around on Friday as well. While the milder conditions will be accompanied by dry weather today and some sunshine, tomorrow’s warmth will be less enjoyable as it will come with occasional rain and perhaps a thunderstorm ahead of the next cold frontal system. Low pressure will form along the frontal boundary zone and this will enhance the rainfall tomorrow night and showers could then linger into early Saturday morning before pulling away. Colder air will return to the region following the frontal passage for much of the upcoming weekend.
