7:00 AM | Much warmer this afternoon with showers and thunderstorms...nice weekend to follow with cherry blossoms in peak form

Paul Dorian

6-Day DC Forecast

Mostly cloudy, breezy, becoming much warmer this afternoon, showers likely and possibly a strong thunderstorm, highs in the low-to-mid 70’s

Showers and thunderstorms likely early then becoming partly cloudy late, lows reach the upper 40’s by morning

Mostly sunny, breezy, mild, mid 60’s

Saturday Night

Mostly clear, quite chilly, upper 30’s

Mostly sunny, pleasant, upper 60’s

Mostly sunny, quite mild, low-to-mid 70’s

Partly sunny, quite mild, chance for showers late, low 70’s

Mostly cloudy, mild, chance for showers, near 70 degrees

A warm front will cross our area early today and then a strong cold front will approach from the west late in the day. As a result, temperatures will jump this afternoon and there will be occasional showers and perhaps a strong thunderstorm or two mixed into the picture. The cold front will sweep off the coast by early tomorrow and this will pave the way for a decent weekend in the I-95 corridor although the breeze will be quite noticeable on Saturday.
