Discussion

The coldest air so far this season will begin to impact the region later today and temperatures on Friday will be confined to the 30’s – well below normal for this time of year. In addition, the winds will be quite strong on Friday causing even lower wind chills and there can be some snow shower activity reaching the I-95 corridor. This Arctic blast will help to generate significant snow shower activity just downstream of the Great Lakes over the next couple of days. The below-normal chill will continue through the upcoming weekend before a bit of a warmup early next week, but that warm up will be brief and followed by another widespread and significant Arctic outbreak likely reaching us here around Tuesday. As far as snow is concerned, low pressure will approach by Sunday night bringing us a chance for snow and/or rain into Monday.
