6-Day NYC Forecast

Thickening clouds today, noticeably colder than yesterday, occasional rain develops late in the day, highs in the upper 40's (normal high is now 57 degrees at Central Park)

Mainly cloudy with occasional rain that can mix in with sleet or snow at times to the north and west, cold, lows near 35 degrees

Partly sunny, chilly, cannot rule out a shower, near 50 degrees for afternoon highs

Wednesday Night

Partly cloudy, cold, lows near 35 degrees by morning

Partly sunny, cool, cannot rule out a shower, low-to-mid 50’s

Mainly sunny, breezy, cold, upper 30's

Mainly sunny, cold, near 40 degrees

Mainly cloudy, still cold, but not quite as harsh, chance of rain possibly mixed with sleet or snow, near 50 degrees

A cold frontal system passed through the region late yesterday and has stalled out in the southern part of the Mid-Atlantic. Low pressure will form along the frontal boundary zone over the Tennessee Valley this morning and head towards the Mid-Atlantic coastline producing rain in the I-95 corridor. It could be just cold enough in some of the higher elevation regions to the north and west of here for some sleet or snow to mix in with the rain later today and tonight. An even stronger cold front will arrive here on Thursday night with gusty winds and it'll usher in the coldest air mass of the season so far for Friday and Saturday. In fact, temperatures are likely to drop to near 20 degrees by early Saturday morning and highs on Friday and Saturday could be confined to the 30's. There will be some modification in temperatures early next week.
