7:00 AM | "Clipper" system to deal with from late tonight into late Saturday night

Paul Dorian

6-Day DC Forecast

Increasing clouds, still quite chilly for mid-March, highs in the middle 40’s

Cloudy with occasional rain likely and it can be mixed with snow at times in some areas, cold, lows in the mid-to-upper 30’s

Mainly cloudy with rain showers likely at times, becoming milder, mid-to-upper 50’s

Saturday Night

Cloudy with rain showers possible in the evening then snow showers possible late at night, cold, mid 30’s

Clouds early with a possible snow shower then becoming partly sunny, breezy, chilly, upper 40’s

Mainly sunny, milder, upper 50’s; chance of showers at night

Mainly cloudy, warm, near 60 degrees

Mainly sunny, brisk, colder, upper 40’s

High pressure will push away from the area today and a “clipper” low pressure system will head this way from the Great Lakes. This “clipper” system is likely to initially generate some occasional rain in the area from later tonight into Saturday although snow can be mixed in at times in some areas. Then, as the system intensifies off the Mid-Atlantic coastline late tomorrow night, there can be some snow shower activity as colder air gets pulled in from the north. High pressure will return for the early part of next week.
