6-Day DC Forecast

Changeable skies today including some sunshine, windy and unusually warm, an occasional shower and perhaps a thunderstorm, any rainfall can be briefly heavy, highs in the upper 60's

Occasional showers, maybe a drenching thunderstorm, some of the rain can be heavy, quite breezy, turning colder late, lows in the lower 40’s

Windy and cold with more clouds than sun, mid 40’s for afternoon highs

Saturday Night

Partly cloudy, cold, lower 30’s for late night lows

Partly sunny, cold, not nearly as windy as Saturday, near 45 degrees; snow showers likely at night possibly mixed with rain at times

Becoming mainly sunny, cold, mid 40’s

Partly sunny, cold, cannot rule out a snow shower late, low-to-mid 40’s

Mainly sunny, cold, low-to-mid 40’s

Heavy rain fell in the overnight hours and there will be more significant rainfall today into tonight resulting in the potential for some serious localized flooding issues across the DC metro region. Strong low pressure will pull up to our west today and warmer air has surged northward along the eastern seaboard with spring-like temperatures near the 60 degree mark as we begin the day. The threat for rain will continue into the overnight hours as a strong cold front works its way through the region. Colder and drier air will arrive by early Saturday riding in on strong NW winds and Sunday will feature some sunshine to along with cold conditions, but the winds will be far less noticeable. An upper-level disturbance will arrive in the Mid-Atlantic region on Sunday night sparking some snow shower activity and there can be some rain mixed in at times.
