Fast-moving low pressure is generating more rain in the Mid-Atlantic region, but it will be replaced by high pressure as we begin the last weekend of April. Unfortunately, that high pressure system will also be a quick-mover and a strong cold front will arrive later in the day on Saturday and late day/early evening showers are likely, maybe even an isolated thunderstorm. Much cooler-than-normal air will push into the region for late Saturday night and Sunday with highs confined to the 50’s as we close out the weekend. A major warm up will begin in earnest on Tuesday as temperatures climb well up into the 70’s and this warmer-than-normal stretch of weather should continue through the end of the work week. In fact, temperatures later next week should easily reach the 80’s for highs and some spots may see a flirtation with the 90 degree.
