6-Day forecast for the DC metro region

Clouds early will give way to some sun, becoming much warmer, highs in the lower 80’s

Mainly cloudy, mild, chance of a shower or thunderstorm late, lows in the upper 50’s

Mainly cloudy, cooler, chance of a shower or two, maybe some patchy drizzle, near 70 degrees for afternoon highs

Wednesday Night

Mainly cloudy, cool, chance of showers or some drizzle, mid 50’s for overnight lows

Mainly cloudy, mild, chance of a couple of showers and a thunderstorm, low-to-mid 70’s

Mainly cloudy, warmer, chance of showers and thunderstorms, upper 70’s

Partly sunny, cooler, chance of showers, near 70 degrees

Mainly cloudy, comfortable temperatures, chance of rain, upper 60’s

A cool front will approach the region tonight and it’ll have trouble pushing through as it’ll align with upper-level winds. This front will meander in the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday and Thursday keeping it somewhat unsettled and then another cold front will arrive on Friday. The late week frontal system is liable to cause showers and thunderstorms as we close out the work week and while the weekend may start off on a decent note, more rain is possible as we close out the upcoming Mother's Day weekend.
