Discussion

A strong cold front will approach the region later today and it’ll increase the chance for showers and thunderstorms and some of the storms late today/early tonight can be on the strong side with heavy rainfall. A secondary cold front will arrive early Friday and it’ll usher in a more refreshing air mass for the NYC metro region that will stay around this weekend. The drier air mass headed our way for the weekend will be anchored by strong high pressure to the north and west of here.
