Surface high pressure dominates the Mid-Atlantic states through the Deep South as we start off the new week with only light onshore expected around here. An unsettled weather pattern is likely later this week as short wave energy approaches at the same time moisture begin to surge northward across the Florida Peninsula. The result will be an increasing shot at showers and thunderstorms as the week progresses.

High pressure will remain over the western Atlantic later for the next couple of days providing us an onshore flow of air. As a tropical-like wave drifts towards us late in the week, it'll enhance our chances for shwoers and thunderstorms. Indeed, this system will have to be closely monitored as it could result in some heavy rainfall around here at the end of the week.

High pressure will build over the western Atlantic as we begin the new week and this will help generate an onshore flow across central Florida. As a result, showers cannot be ruled over the next few, but they should be rather scattered and likely focused near coastal sections.

7:00 AM | *Unsettled weather today, but the weekend is looking quite nice*

As a cold front pushes towards the region today, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase. The good news is that the front should keep pressing eastward and the weekend is looking quite promising across central Florida. Sunshine on both weekend days is expected which will boost afternoon temperatures to near the 80 degree mark for highs.
