Discussion

The pattern change has left us with below normal temperatures to start the new week and with the threat for more showers and thunderstorms. Later in the week, upper level high pressure will re-intensify and this will cause a warming trend to develop and highs by Thursday and Friday could very well reach the 90’s once again. Elsewhere, an update on the sun shows that as one big sunspot (AR1515) turns away from the Earth, another one is now turning toward our planet. AR1520, now emerging on the sun's southeastern limb, stretches more than 10 Earth diameters (127,000 km) from end-to-end and will be monitored over the next several days.
