Deep upper-level low pressure will intensify today as it slowly grinds its way towards the east coast. The combination of this strong wave of energy in the upper atmosphere and an influx of very moist low-level air will result in a strong-to-severe weather threat today in Florida as well as up along the eastern seaboard to the Mid-Atlantic region. The good news is that this strong upper-level feature will push off to the northeast on Saturday paving the way for a pretty decent weekend across central Florida.
