Increasingly strong N-NW winds today will signal the arrival of an Arctic blast that will halt temperatures in their tracks today and result in overnight lows in the teens and tomorrow will turn out to be the coldest day of the season so far. The Arctic cold will stick around well into the upcoming weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region and attention will turn to the west as the next winter storm crosses the nation.
