6-Day forecast for the DC metro region

Mainly sunny, still on the cold side, highs near 50 degrees

Mainly clear, cold, lows in the lower 30’s

Sunshine followed by increasing clouds, becoming breezy and milder, cannot rule out a late day shower, near 60 degrees for afternoon highs

Thursday Night

Partly cloudy, milder than recent nights, cannot rule out a shower, mid 40’s for overnight lows

Mainly cloudy, even milder, near 70 degrees

Partly sunny, warm, lower 70’s

Mainly cloudy, breezy, chance of showers, mid-to-upper 50's for highs early in the day, temperatures could drop later in the afternoon

Partly sunny, breezy, colder, near 50 degrees

Today will be another below-normal day in the Mid-Atlantic region in terms of overall temperatures, but a warming trend will begin on Thursday as our low-level winds will switch to a southwesterly direction on the back side of departing high pressure. The warming trend will intensify on Friday and Saturday and the lower 70’s will be likely as we start the weekend. Showers are a threat for Sunday as the next cold frontal system arrives from the Midwest and it’ll turn colder as we begin the new week (and the new month) on Monday.
