Discussion

A very active weather pattern will continue for much of the eastern half of the nation during the next ten days or so and there will be multiple chances of accumulating snow and/or ice in the Mid-Atlantic region. A relatively weak system passing by to our north today can cause occasional snow into mid-afternoon with 1-3 inches of accumulation on the table. A stronger system is likely to impact the Mid-Atlantic region in two waves during the second half of the week with one concentrating on the period from later Wednesday into early Thursday and then a second from later Thursday into Friday. It appears the heaviest precipitation with this second half of the week event may stay just to the south of here - something to monitor over the next day or so. Additional threats of snow and ice an come to the region this weekend and next week.
